Sparty wins the title

So, our beloved mascot, Sparty, has won a competition that says he's the top mascot. But, of course, we all knew that. Being the dutiful daughter, sister, niece, cousin and granddaughter that I am, I forwarded it onto my family. Josh's response just busted me up. He said...:

"While reading the article and seeing that picture of Sparty, I couldn't help but think that I was watching a really tragic episode of 'Behind the Music'.

In a world of cartoon birds, badgers, warriors and wildcats, nobody stood taller than Sparty. But the good times were not to last for East Lansing's favorite son. Shortly after winning the College Mascot Nationals, Sparty's life began to spin wildly out of control.

Goldy the Gopher: Me and Sparty, we was probably doin' about $300 or $400 worth of blow every night around that time. And let me tell you, Sparty loved the women too.

The MSU mascot's fast life came screeching to a halt on the night of February second when police found Sparty naked and passed out in a local gentleman's club bathroom with a pound of marijuana tucked under his arm.

When we return things get even worse for Sparty.
"

Oh, my...he's a funny Yosh, he is.

Lovely low-carb treasures

One of the greatest challenges in going low-carb is the "sweet" end of the food spectrum. You can only eat so much Splenda, and you really shouldn't eat much aspartame. So, I've resorted to buying cans of that pressurized whipped cream (e.g. Redi-Whip). Previously, most nights when I needed a little something sweet, you'd find me stretched out on my couch with the TV glinting off the can as I tipped it up to my mouth and shot whipped cream into my mouth....keeeershhhh!

No more. Now, there are the Tofutti Hooray Hooray bars. Oh...my...God...

Also making big splashes in my pantry and refrigerator lately are the I.M. Healthy Low-Carb Soy Nut Butter, and Blue Bunny Lite 85 yogurts. And, if I'm feeling extravagant, the Atkins Endulge Peanut Butter Cups aren't cheap, but are remarkably close to Reese's...well, kinda.

So, the journey continues. Slightly sweeter for these new findings. :)
